A FEW GOOD SEEDS is a fund initiative established by A FEW GOOD WOMEN PRODUCTIONS aims to support individuals who currently work or aspire to work in the entertainment industry. As part of our commitment to fostering creativity and providing opportunities, we offer grants to ambitious individuals who demonstrate talent, passion, and dedication in their respective fields. Each grant's eligibility and criteria may vary, depending on the available funds and the specific type of grant being offered.

Through A FEW GOOD SEEDS, we aim to empower creatives by providing resources and exposure to further their industry endeavors. We recognize the importance of assistance in pursuing creative projects and we strive to bridge the gap by offering grants directly from our fund and/or through strategic partnerships.

Grant Details

A FEW GOOD SEEDS is excited to announce the first grant in collaboration with THE PROFESSIONAL PEN. This prestigious opportunity presented by A FEW GOOD WOMEN PRODUCTIONS supports aspiring screenwriters on their journey to bring compelling stories to life.

This grant aims to equip talented individuals with the tools and resources to level-up the current screenplays they’re working on.

Three exceptional individuals will be selected as grant recipients-Must be 18 years or older.
A 6-Week Sceeenplay Structure and Outlining Workshop offered by THE PROFESSIONAL PEN.
The workshop begins on July 16th and takes place every Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM PT.
The workshop series covers screenplay structure elements, writing techniques, character, creation, plot development, beat sheets, outlining tips, and an inside view of the Hollywood business structure.

Benefits for Grant Recipients

Grant recipients will receive tuition coverage for THE PROFESSIONAL PEN's 6-Week Sceeenplay Structure and Outlining Workshop.
Weekly 2-hour lectures conducted by industry experts from THE PROFESSIONAL PEN, offering valuable insights and guidance.
Guidance on feature and TV act structure to enhance their storytelling skills.
Engaging class activities and handouts curated by THE PROFESSIONAL PEN to facilitate learning and practical application.
As an added bonus, one chosen recipient will be selected at the end of the 6-week program to receive a 1-on-1 Session with an Executive Leader from A FEW GOOD WOMEN PRODUCTIONS. This session is designed to provide guidance and insights related to the chosen recipient's writing goals. It is important to note that this session is not a pitch session, legal advice, or career advice. It is a valuable opportunity for the chosen recipient to gain insights from an industry professional. The chosen recipient will be selected based on their dedication, commitment, and growth demonstrated throughout the workshop.

Submission Rules & Process

Applicants must be 18 years or older.
The first 25 participants who meet the criteria will be reviewed.
Personal Statement: Include a brief personal statement introducing yourself, your passion for storytelling, and why you believe you would benefit from the grant (500 words or less).
Script or screen play sample: submit 10 pages of your writing sample.
Provide your name, email address, and phone number for communication purposes. One Personal referral (family member, friend, mentor, etc) and one Professional referral (teacher, co-worker, manager, etc).
Please submit your application through the online submission or by form on our website www.AFewGoodSeeds.com. Do not submit your application via email or any other method.
Before applying review THE PROFESSIONAL PEN 6-Week Sceeenplay Structure and Outlining Workshop to ensure it aligns with your goals and availability. Visit their website www.awriterforyourwriter.com and follow them on Instagram (@THEPROFESSIONALPEN) for more information. The deadline for submission is July 10, 2023 at 11 AM PST.
Our team will review the submissions based on the quality of the personal bio and script sample, as well as the applicant's potential for growth in screenwriting.
Grant recipients will be announced on our social media pages by July 14, 2023. Additionally, all applicants will be notified via email regarding the outcome of their submission.
Please note that the submission of your application does not guarantee selection for the grant. Grant recipients must be willing to sign a waiver allowing us to share components of their work on our platforms and provide a video testimony about their experience.
